The biggest concern for the Wolverines entering Saturday’s showdown at Wisconsin is the status of running back Karan Higdon. Jim Harbaugh didn’t go into much detail, only saying that there was “positive news” regarding Higdon.

"We'll get more today, but he seems good," Harbaugh said.

Higdon suffered what appeared to be an ankle injury during the first half of Michigan’s win at Maryland. He remained in the locker room during the second half.

Fellow running back Ty Isaac has missed the last two games with an undisclosed injury. Isaac, who’s Michigan’s second-leading rusher, sounds good to go this week.

"We got positive news on him this week," Harbaugh said. "We'll know more as the week goes."

Cornerback Lavert Hill suffered a concussion and is status is unknown. Cornerback David long and defensive end Rashan Gary will play Saturday and have no lasting effects from missing part of the second half against the Terrapins.

"I felt something," Gary said. "It didn't feel good, so I got back off the field and had the trainers take care of me."

Lastly, quarterback Wilton Speight has been cleared to return to practice, but not contact. Harbaugh said Brandon Peters will start against Wisconsin.
