Toledo, BG football teams release some game times

The University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University football teams — as well as Ohio State and Michigan — announced start times for a number of games for this coming season.

The highlight for the Rockets is their Saturday, Sept. 15 contest against national power Miami will kick off at noon at the Glass Bowl, and it will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

In addition, Toledo’s battle with archrival Bowling Green at the Glass Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 6, will start at 3:30 p.m.

When it comes to rivalries, the annual battle between Ohio State and Michigan, this year set for Nov. 24 in Columbus, again will kick off at noon and be televised by Fox.

The Rockets open with a game against VMI at the Glass Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 1 that will kick off at 7 p.m. UT will play at Western Michigan on Thursday, Oct. 25 in a game that will begin at 7 p.m. and be shown on ESPN2 or CBS Sports Network.

Toledo’s home game with Ball State on Wednesday, Oct. 31 will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN2. One week later the Rockets will play at Northern Illinois in a game that will start at either 7 or 8 p.m. depending on whether it airs on ESPN2 or ESPNU, and UT’s Thursday, Nov. 15 game at Kent State will begin at 6 p.m. and be broadcast by the CBS Sports Network.

The Falcons’ opener at Oregon on Saturday, Sept. 1, will kick off at 8 p.m. local time and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.

BG also will host Maryland of the Big Ten at Doyt Perry Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 8 in a game set to start at 6 p.m. The following Saturday the Falcons will host Eastern Kentucky in a game that will begin at 4 p.m.

Bowling Green’s homecoming contest against Western Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 13 will kick off at 3 p.m., and the following week the Falcons will play at Ohio in a game starting at 2 p.m.

BG will host Kent State on Tuesday, Oct. 30 in a game that will kick off at 8 p.m. That game will be broadcast on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

The Mid-American Conference Championship Game will be played at Detroit’s Ford Field on Friday, Nov. 30 and start at 7 p.m. It will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Michigan’s anticipated 2018 opener Sept. 1 at Notre Dame will start at 7:30 p.m. and be shown on NBC. Other game times announced for UM include home games vs. Western Michigan (Sept. 8, noon), SMU (Sept. 15, 3:30 p.m.), and Maryland (Oct. 6, noon).

Ohio State game times announced include the opener vs. Oregon State (Sept. 1, noon), the home game vs. Rutgers (Sept. 8, 3:30 p.m.), the game vs. TCU in Arlington, Texas (Sept. 15, 8 p.m.), and the home game vs. Indiana (Oct. 6, 3:30 or 4 p.m.).
