The University of Toledo football team got a rush of good news this weekend on the recruiting trail.
The Rockets got commitments from South Dade High School (Homestead, Fla.) teammates Najeh Baker and Joe Smith and another one from Elija Griffin of Harper Woods High School in Michigan.
Baker is a 5-foot-11, 165-pound receiver, while Smith is an outside linebacker who is 6-1, 205 pounds.
Griffin also is 5-11 and 165 pounds and plays cornerback.
Smith and Griffin are three-star recruits according to 247Sports.com, while Baker is a two-star.
The three commitments give Toledo nine commits in the 2019 class, which is rated as the No. 2 class in the Mid-American Conference behind Miami according to 247Sports.
