McComb man sentenced for arson fire

FINDLAY — A McComb, Ohio, man was sentenced to prison in Hancock County Common Pleas Court for setting fire to a watershed dispensary building last year.

Philip J. Terry, 47, was sentenced Tuesday by Judge Reginald Routson to one year in prison on a charge of arson, a fourth-degree felony, and 10 months in prison for tampering with coin machines, a fifth-degree felony. The sentences are to be served concurrently.

Terry also was ordered to pay $8,779.82 in restitution to the Northwestern Water and Sewer District.

On Feb. 28, 2017, Terry set fire to the Northwestern Water and Sewer District watershed, which is in a park at 103 Park Drive South.

When crews arrived, they found the watershed had been broken into and an undisclosed amount of money was missing, officials reported.
