Toledoan gets life sentence for molesting girl

A Toledo man who admitted he molested a 5-year-old girl was sentenced last week to life in prison with parole eligibility after he serves 20 years behind bars.

Jacob Olmstead, 36, of the 3000 block of Wyndale Road entered Alford pleas — not admitting guilt — and was found guilty May 30 by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook of three counts of rape.

In addition to imposing the prison term, Judge Cook classified Olmstead as a sex offender who must register his address with the county sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life.
