MONROE — A man and a woman were arrested Wednesday on South Telegraph Road in connection with an armed bank robbery about two miles away, Monroe County sheriff’s deputies said.

Names of the man, 51, and woman, 49, were not released pending arraignment in First District Court.

Two people robbed the KeyBank branch on North Telegraph Road in Frenchtown Township about 2:15 p.m. and drove away with an undisclosed amount of cash, deputies said. Sgt. Dave Raymond spotted their vehicle on South Telegraph and stopped it, and an ensuing search yielded stolen money and other evidence of the robbery, according to a statement.
