Perrysburg woman treated for injuries during robbery

A woman was treated at the Mercy Health Perrysburg Medical Center after she was injured during a home robbery, police said. 

Police responded at about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday to the emergency room portion of the Mercy Health Perrysburg Medical Center, 12621 Eckel Junction Rd., according to a media release issued by the Perrysburg Police Department.

Laura Heringhaus, 36, of the 5100 block of Bostwick Road said an armed man entered her home and secured and assaulted her, according to a Perrysburg police report. 

The man had a handgun, according to the report. 

Ms. Heringhaus freed herself and a friend then took her to the medical center for treatment, police reported.

Deputy Chief Jim Rose declined to say the extent of her injuries, but said Ms. Heringhaus was treated and released from the hospital. 

The deputy chief also declined to say if anything was taken, due to the ongoing investigation. 

The man is described as being approximately 6 feet tall, slim build, with a dark complexion. 

Police continue to investigate.
