It wasn’t a good driving day for city and county employees.

Toledo police responded to at least three non-injury crashes involving city or county vehicles Wednesday into Thursday.

Mark Bates, a streets and bridges city employee, was driving a dump truck at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday near Booth and Doyle when he backed into a parked vehicle, police said.

More than four hours later, they responded to another crash reported in South Toledo.

Toledo Police Officer Glenden Teems failed to see a stopped vehicle behind him while backing up his cruiser from a driveway at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 2400 of Eastgate Road , according to a police report. The officer backed his cruiser into the occupied vehicle, police said.

Early Thursday, a property damage accident was reported involving a Lucas County life squad.

Police responded at approximately 5:25 a.m. Thursday to Heartland-Holly Glen healthcare facility, 4293 Monroe St.

The life squad unit was no longer on scene, but a Toledo Fire and Rescue Department representative was on scene photographing the damage, according to police.

Crews were responding to a call for service at the facility and struck the gutter, partially tearing it from the roof, according to police.
