Toledo Fire & Rescue is one of 75 Ohio fire departments that will share $745,000 in grants from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation under a program to protect firefighters from carcinogens and other harmful elements encountered while battling a blaze, according to a release from the bureau.
Toledo was granted $15,000 to purchase 519 protective hoods.
