Police: Multiple fires in East Toledo overnight

Toledo fire and police crews responded to multiple fires early Friday in an East Toledo alley and at two nearby fast-food restaurants, according to police. 

At approximately 12:40 a.m., Toledo Fire and Rescue Department crews responded to a mattress on fire in the alley behind the 1300 block of Front Street. 

Shortly after, multiple calls came in reporting other objects on fire in the same alley. After extinguishing those flames, firefighters were called to put out garbage-bin fires at Burger King, 802 Front, and Taco Bell, 708 Front, police said. 

The incidents remained under investigation later Friday. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
