Country Music Hall of Fame group Alabama coming to Toledo

Country Music Hall of Fame group Alabama will stop at Toledo’s Huntington Center on Friday, Nov. 9, as part of its “The Hits Tour 2018.”

Alabama’s career has spanned more than 40 years. At one point, the group released 21 straight singles that reached No. 1 hits, including iconic hits “Tennessee River,” “Love in the First Degree,” “The Closer You Get,” “I’m in a Hurry,” and “Forever Is as Far as I’ll Go.”

Alabama was founded by Randy Owen and his cousin Teddy Gentry. Cousin Jeff Cook later joined them to form country music’s most commercially successful band. It has sold more than 75 million albums since the release of “I Want to Be with You Tonight in 1977.” “Tennessee River” was the group’s first No. 1 hit, reaching the top of the charts in 1980.
