● Chicken breasts, rice, and green bean casserole were not being held at the proper temperature.

● Packaged sausage and pita bread had missing labels.

Libbey, Inc.- Main Dining, 940 Ash, inspected Jan. 11.  

● Raw ground meat, chicken breast, bags of lettuce, tuna salad, boiled eggs, raw shell eggs, and chicken salad were not being held at the proper temperature in the walk-in cooler.

● Foods held refrigerated for more than 24 hours were not properly date marked in a reach-in cooler.

● There was buildup on the interior surface of the dispensing unit to the coffee machine.

● Raw chicken was stored above lamb.

Howard’s Drive Thru, 1001 Nebraska, inspected Jan. 11.  

● Person in charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health as it relates to diseases that are transmissible through food.

● Eggs were stored above beverages and sausages on the same shelf.

● There was a leaking condensor unit in a walk-in cooler. The discharge water was hitting the soft drink beverages directly below the leak.

● A prepared/​prepackaged sub was not being held at the proper temperature.

● About 20 hamburgers in a retail refrigeration display didn’t have use by/​sell by date markings.

● Utensils and storage containers were dirty.

●The hand washing sink was being used for purposes other than hand washing.

Bier Stube, 5333 Monroe, inspected Jan. 11. 

● Food items were not being held at the proper temperature.

● Food was marked to be discarded after eight days instead of the seven-day limit.

● There was buildup in the ice machine and on the soda gun at the bar.

● Degreaser and chemicals were stored above foil and basket lines.

 Vito’s Pizza, 5145 Summit, inspected Jan. 12.  

● A food employee went straight to handling food items from the oven after returning from food delivery outside without washing hands.

● The person in charge did not ensure that employees are properly sanitizing equipment or utensils.

● A bag and bin of chicken chunks were held beyond the 7-day use by/​discard date.

● The food preparation stations were not being cleaned at the required frequency.

● The hand washing sink was not easily accessible.

Serenity Diner, 1826 Bancroft, inspected Jan. 12.  

● Potato salad, cut lettuce, and cheese were not being held at the proper temperature.

● There were no date markings on mac and cheese, soup, cooked chicken, and ham.

● Expired cooked meat loaf was inside a walk-in cooler.

● Hand washing sink was being used for purposes other than hand washing.

Steak Escape, 5001 Monroe, inspected Jan. 16.  

● Employees were donning gloves without washing hands prior.

● Person in charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health as it relates to diseases that are transmissible through food.

● Lemonade container had buildup on the nozzle and around the inside lid. Ice machine also had buildup on the inside.

Robert’s Food & Spirits, 2633 N. Detroit, inspected Jan. 16.  

● Person in charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health as it relates to diseases that are transmissible through food.

● Raw prepackaged meat was stored above the adult beverages.

● Utensils and utensil storage containers were dirty.

● There was an air gap between a plumbing fixture and a piece of equipment that was not sufficient to prevent back siphonage of contaminated water.

● Mashed potatoes and soup were not properly discarded when required.

● There was buildup on a can opener blade.

New Glass Bowl Lanes, 5133 Telegraph, inspected Jan. 16.  

● Raw hamburger meat patties and raw bacon were stored above ready-to-eat foods. Ham was stored directly above bags of raw ground meat without any separation.

● There was pink buildup on the shield inside an ice machine.

● The wastewater and sewage is conveyed through the use of an unapproved system.

● Raw chicken was stored above beef.

Manhattan’s Pub N Cheer, 1516 Adams, inspected Jan. 16.  

● Ice maker was dirty

● Ice maker scoop needs to be thrown away because of crack in it.

Jed’s Cafe, 855 S. Holland Sylvania, inspected Jan. 16.  

● Dishwashing machine does not automatically dispense detergent and sanitizer.

● Ice machine was dirty.

Fuzzys Taco Shop, 3332 W. Central, inspected Jan. 16.  

● There was no person in charge present in the food facility.

Erie Food Market, 727 Galena, inspected Jan. 16.  

● The person in charge did not ensure that employees are properly sanitizing equipment or utensils.

● Lettuce cabbage and cut melons were not being held at the proper temperature.

● Foods held refrigerated for more than 24 hours were not properly date marked in the deli display case and in the pizza prep cooler.

● There was a buildup of food debris on a deli slicer.

● There was no sanitizer solution available in the deli department during raw meat cutting, produce preparation, and handling of ready-to-eat foods.
