A Toledo man was found guilty Wednesday of sending a threatening letter to Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros.

Jamaine Eaton, 25, was convicted by a jury of retaliation and intimidation, both third-degree felonies punishable by up to three years in prison. Visiting Judge James Barber scheduled sentencing for July 25.

In 2015, Judge Mandros sentenced Eaton to nine years in prison for aggravated robbery and a firearm specification. Prosecutors said Eaton sent the judge a letter March 23, 2017, from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility where he was serving that sentence. In the letter, he threatened the judge's life and that of his children.

The jury of seven men and five women deliberated more than three hours before returning its verdicts.
