COLUMBUS — Ohio State changed the time of its annual spring game due to the likelihood of thunderstorms Saturday in Columbus.

The game, which originally was scheduled for 1:45 p.m. at Ohio Stadium, will now be played 11:45 a.m.

Ohio State announced the change Friday in a release.

As in previous years, Ohio State had plans to play a lacrosse game immediately before the football team’s spring game on Saturday, but had to rearrange the schedule because of the weather forecast. OSU moved the lacrosse team’s game against Michigan to 7 p.m. Friday.

Both events at Ohio State will be televised live on Big Ten Network.

The threat of poor weather caused many Midwestern football programs to make changes to their spring schedules. Toledo moved its game from Saturday to Friday, while Michigan canceled its spring game entirely.

Ohio State will conclude spring football next week.
