Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates is pushing back on Attorney General Dave Yost’s claim that Ohio’s halt in executions is a “wilderness of lawlessness,” saying those convicted remain imprisoned, most for life without parole. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost criticized the state’s unofficial pause on executions, calling it a “mockery of the justice system” in his office’s Capital Crimes Report. Gov.
