Memorial Day Banner2016

Soldier’s heroism finally coming to light
Toledo native Pfc. Raymond Manz died helping his fellow troops advance. It came two days after Operation Cowboy during which his Army 2nd Cavalry Regiment liberated several hundred prisoners of war and the famous Lipizzaner horse breeding stock. For 60 years, his war story went unknown by his family. Several appreciative historians brought his story back to life.
