A Sylvania man was found guilty Friday by a Lucas County Common Pleas jury for hiring someone to set fire to a house where three people lived.

Adel Ahmed Kamal, 59, of the 4700 block of Mount Airy Road, was found guilty of three counts of attempted murder and a count of aggravated arson following a four-day trial before Judge Stacy Cook. Judge Cook is scheduled to sentence Kamal on March 22.

Kamal was accused of offering someone $100 to set fire to an occupied home in the 5000 block of Golden Road on Nov. 3, 2016. The fire was never set.

In September, 2016, he was acquitted by a jury of arson for an unrelated 2015 fire at a car lot.
